About the work
Devotion is a contemporary ballet created by choreographer Shane Urton for Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
Inspired in part by Martha Graham's reflections on the end of a dancer's performing career, the work explores the relationship between artistic devotion, identity and the passage of time. Through an intricate movement language, the choreography examines the physical and emotional connections between dancers, combining classical ballet technique with contemporary movement.
Following an initial presentation as Devotion & Dreams in 2023, the completed production was presented as part of Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre's Out of the Box: Series II in September 2024.
