SUMMER

Summer was created in collaboration with choreographer Shane Urton for Terminus Modern Ballet Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, as part of the company's Four Seasons project.

Inspired by Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, the project brings together four choreographers to explore the changing seasons through contemporary ballet. Each season is associated with a particular human experience and natural element.

Summer reimagines Vivaldi's original score through the sounds and atmosphere of the American South. Drawing on the distinctive sound of cicadas, banjos and the landscape of the Southern United States, the music connects Vivaldi's depiction of summer with a contemporary sense of place.
