About the work
Three Memories is a three-movement composition for guitar quartet, commissioned by the Belgian Four Aces Guitar Quartet and recorded for their 2016 album For Aces on Antarctica Records.
The work explores the fragile and changing nature of memory. Like photographs kept throughout our lives, memories capture moments that gradually become distorted or incomplete with time, while retaining their emotional significance. Through three musical impressions, the composition reflects on the relationship between remembrance, imagination and the enduring weight of experiences that can no longer be recalled with certainty.
